This fuel cell system is provided with: a pulsation operation unit for causing pulsation of the pressure of an anode gas; a target-flow-rate setting unit which sets a target flow rate for a cathode gas on the basis of a requirement of a fuel cell; a first-target-pressure setting unit which sets a first target pressure for the cathode gas on the basis of a requirement of the fuel cell; a second-target-pressure setting unit which sets a second target pressure for the cathode gas, said second target pressure being for maintaining, within a prescribed permitted pressure difference range, the pressure difference between the anode and cathode in the fuel cell; a target-pressure setting unit for setting, as a target pressure, the largest from among the first target pressure and the second target pressure; and a controller which controls a compressor and a pressure-regulating value on the basis of the target flow rate and the target pressure. When the target pressure pulsates concomitantly with the pulsation of the pressure of the anode gas, the controller controls the compressor on the basis of the target flow rate and a restriction pressure for restricting the pulsation of the target pressure. |
