PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved display device, capable of displaying without decreasing area efficiency.SOLUTION: There is provided a display device including a detector configured to detect contact or proximity of a user to a screen, and a display controller configured to perform a display control based on the detection by the detector. The detector enables only detection in a predetermined range on the screen while detecting contact or proximity to an operation body displayed on the screen. The display controller explicitly indicates a range corresponding to the predetermined range while the detector detects contact or proximity to the operation body.
