<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt switch which achieves ultra-compact size and low production cost, and does not require power consumption.SOLUTION: A tilt switch comprises: a ball 1 having a conductive surface; a square-shaped or cylindrical container 2 made of a non-conducting material, which stores the ball 1; a rectangular or disk-shaped base plate 3 made of a non-conducting material, which fits an opening end of the container 2; and a pair of electrodes 4 and 5 which are arranged on the base plate 3 and set at heights corresponding to a detected tilt angle. The tilt switch is made in a manner such that the ball 1 is inserted into the container 2 and the container 2 is covered with the base plate 3. In the case where tilt of the base plate 3 is within a range from a horizontal state to the detected tilt angle, the ball 1 simultaneously touches the pair of electrodes 4 and 5 to cause short-circuit and turn ON the tilt switch, but in the case where the tilt angle is out of the range, the ball 1 moves to release the short-circuit and turn OFF the tilt switch.</p> |
