PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition that prevents olefin polymers from degrading over time when in contact with a heavy metal.SOLUTION: A composition comprises an olefin polymer and a stabilizing amount of a metal deactivator, which is a hydrazine derivative represented by the formula (I), in which one (not both) of Rand Ris a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group, alkylene group and/or alkylene-ether group, where the alkylene-ether group may be polymerized.
