A headlamp unit (100) is provided with a light source (101), a light guide member (102), a projection lens (103), and a drive unit (112). The light source (101) emits a beam of light radiating forward in the direction of movement. The light guide member (102) receives the beam of light as input and emits a planar light having an angle of divergence. The projection lens (103) receives the planar light as input and projects the received light forward. The drive unit (112) changes the positional relation of the projection lens (103) relative to the light guide member (102). The drive unit (112) is arranged in an area overlapping with the projection lens (103) from the light guide member (102) in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the light guide member (102), as optically viewed from the optical axis direction of the projection lens (103).
