A bridge building method comprises providing a casting yard in close proximity to the bridge site or part of the bridge site, and casting at least one pretensioned span in the casting yard, the span being too large, e.g. between 25 to 80m in length, to be transported to the site from a remote location by public road transport. The casting yard contains a casting bed in line with or adjacent to the bridge centerline to assist in moving each large span from the casting bed to the bridge. Coo C* |
