PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belay apparatus which guarantees a high degree of reliability in braking a constraining rope when used under every condition, and whose size and weight are adjusted.SOLUTION: A belay apparatus that brakes a rope is composed of a body 1 formed of two parallel plates 2 and 3 connected by a plurality of separated pins 4. The rope is inserted into the body 1. The body 1 is provided with a carabiner connected to the body 1 through an opening 8 of the body. The belay apparatus is connected to a user through the carabiner. The carabiner can be moved in the opening 8 between a non-braking position which is a normal position, and an emergency position in which the rope is braked. |
