PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep positioning accuracy in a tape width direction satisfactorily even if the number of coated optical fibers is large, when an optical fiber tape core in which coupling sections and non-coupling sections are intermittently formed in a longitudinal direction between adjacent coated optical fibers is manufactured by making cuts between the coated optical fibers with a blade.SOLUTION: In an optical fiber tape core 10, four or more coated optical fibers 11 are disposed in parallel, and coupling sections 12 and 16 and non-coupling sections 13 and 18 are intermittently formed in a longitudinal direction between the adjacent coated optical fibers 11. Of portions between the adjacent coated optical fibers 11, the coupling sections 16 between the coated optical fibers in a position at which the optical fiber tape core 10 is equally divided into M (M is an integer of two or more) in a width direction thereof are formed wider in the width direction than the coupling sections 12 between the coated optical fibers in other boundary portions.
