PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subtitle monitoring device which allows for visual confirmation of multiplex timing and subtitle deletion timing to an ANC area of a time control CS (clear screen). ! SOLUTION: An SDI signal 100 is inputted to a subtitle monitoring device 90 and CS data 126 is extracted by a subtitle sentence and CS decoder 124 and inputted to a CS lamp creation circuit 136. The CS lamp creation circuit 136 outputs a multiplex timing signal 137 and a subtitle deletion timing signal 138 and inputs them to an image converter 140. The image converter 140 outputs screen data 142 including a lamp image for allowing visual confirmation of the multiplex timing and subtitle deletion timing at a position of not overlapping with an image or a subtitle on a screen. !
