Disclosed are novel (mercapto-triazolylmethyl)-butanols of formula (I) in which R<1>, R<2> X, Y and m have the meanings indicated in the description, as well as their acid-addition salts and metal salt complexes, a method of producing these substances and their use as microbicides for protecting plants and materials.
