PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pet food, pet food additives and feeding methods to allow an animal to consume an appropriate dietary amount without the need for intervention by a caregiver to deny the animal access to a source of food between feeding times.SOLUTION: A pet food composition to be fed to an animal contains a satiety inducing agent in an amount effective to modulate expression of one or more genes selected from NPY, NPY receptors, leptin and leptin receptors. The satiety inducing agent is selected from EPA and luteolin. |
