Synthetic sheets (8,9) or films are joined by welding along their longitudinal edges (10,11). The joint has a holding strip (6) which can be anchored, esp. in concrete, and the backs (16,17) of the sheets (8,9) lie on it in the region of the edges (10,11). On the front (44,45) of the sheets (8,9) is a jointing strip 92) which is clipped to the holding strip (6).
