PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand applications, as industrial materials, aerospace materials, and other advanced materials, of thermoplastic composites comprising polyester resins and reinforcing carbon fibers (CFRTP) by further improving strengths and electrical characteristics, etc. while acknowledging that the adhesiveness of such a composition has conventionally been ameliorated by improving the intermolecular affinity with the polyester based on the surface treatment of the carbon fiber.SOLUTION: Strengths, etc. of the provided polyester-carbon fiber copolymer composite (CFRTP) are ameliorated by chemically coupling, based on a reactive extrusion method using, as a binder, an epoxy resin together with a catalyst, terminal carboxyl groups of a polyester with a carbon fiber possessing carboxyl groups. Moreover, regenerated carbon fibers possessing carboxyl groups and regenerated from a carbon fiber-reinforced thermosetting composite (CFRP) can be favorably used.
|
