The light detection unit includes: a light-emitting unit (150) that emits light towards a subject; a light-receiving unit (140) that receives light from the subject; and a light-shielding member (70) that shields light at least with respect to the light-receiving unit (140). The light-shielding member (70) has a light-shielding wall (100) that is formed by means of sheet metal processing of a metal, is provided between the light-emitting unit (150) and the light-receiving unit (140), and shields the light from the light-emitting unit (150) from entering the light-receiving unit (140).
