Prodn. of high octane reformate gasoline from distillate gasoline or gas condensate comprises: (a) injecting the distillate gasoline or condensate with reforming gas with heating into a hydrorefining stage: (b) stabilising the raffinate; (c) catalytically reforming the stabilised raffinate in a reforms counter-currently with a heat carrier; and (d) stabilising the high octane reformate with recycling into the hydrorefining step. The process uses one central heat supply and a closed heat carrier cycle.
