PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of utilizing functions of a device as much as possible according to a kind of the device, and to provide a method, a system, a program, and a recording medium of the information processing apparatus.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus acquires configuration information of a device from the device connected to the information processing apparatus, and can perform setting according to the device to be connected on the basis of the configuration information. The information processing apparatus comprises: function file storage means 422 having a function file describing a function of the device; device classifying and reading means 424 and 426 for classifying the devices on the basis of the configuration information acquired from the device and for reading the function file according to classification result from the function file storage means 422; information acquiring means 106 for acquiring, from the device, function information concerning the function described in the function file read by the device classifying and reading means 424 and 426; and display means 402 for displaying a setup screen for setting prescribed settings corresponding to the device, on the basis of the function information acquired by the information acquiring means 106. |
