The present invention provides a semiconductor light emitting device including a wavelength-converting member to which at least one composition from a group including Na2O, CaO, K2O, and Li2O is added. The semiconductor light emitting device comprises: a package main body which includes first and second electrode structures; a semiconductor light emitting device which is arranged in the package main body and is connected to the first and second electrode structures; and a mixture sintered body which is located on the progress path of light produced from the semiconductor light emitting device, and includes wavelength-converting materials and glass compositions. The glass compositions are ZnO-BaO-SiO2-P2O5-B2O3 based compositions.
