摘要 A molecular modeling device that allows for the transformation of atoms in a tetrahedral bonding arrangement around a spherical central atom to a trigonal planar bonding arrangement, without the need for disassembly and reassembly and with using the same bonds, is disclosed herein. The present invention also provides visual representations of the empty, unhybridized p-orbital on a central atom. The present invention allows users to observe a transformation between sp2 and sp3 hybridizations of an atom. The molecular modeling device may be used in education, pharmaceutical, industrial, and other applications for improved conceptualization of the geometries and angles between atomic bonds.
