According to the invention, a master device of a first communication network is adapted for transmitting, in principle at regular intervals, beacons for synchronizing power-line communications in the first communication network. In order to determine the times when the beacons must be transmitted, said master device carries out the following steps: listening (S502) to the communication channel in order to detect potential beacons transmitted in a second communication network; when a beacon is detected, determining (S505; S508) a transmission time of a beacon transmitted by a master device of the second network; and determining (S509) times of future beacon transmissions by the master device of the first communication network such that said future beacon transmissions occur, in principle, at the same time as the future beacon transmissions by the master device of the second communication network. |
