PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary light projecting device capable of efficiently projecting auxiliary light in accordance with the focal distance of a photographing lens in a camera provided with a focal distance-variable photographing optical system, a variable power finder optical system, and an automatic focus detector. SOLUTION: Tihs device is a real-image type finder provided with an objective lens system including variable power lenses 121 and 121, a prism 124 forming an object image formed by the lenses 121 and 122, and an eyepiece 123 observing the formed object image. This passive autofocusing detector is provided with the auxiliary light projecting means in which a half mirror 125 transmitting a luminous flux projected from the prism 124 is arranged between the prism 124 and the eyepiece 123, a light emitting element 126 is arranged outside the optical path of the variable power finder optical system, and by which the auxiliary light emitted from the element 126 is reflected toward the prism 124 by the mirror 125, and projected from the lenses 121 and 122 so as to irradiate a subject. |
