<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element in which phosphorescence life of a luminescent material is short, high luminous efficiency is ensured in short wave light emission from blue color to blue-green color and long emission lifetime is ensured, and to provide a display device and a luminaire using it. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL element contains a compound having a partial structure represented by a following general formula (1).
