PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF TRIFLUOROMETHANESULFONYL FLUORIDE

There is provided a method for producing trifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride (CF 3 SO 2 F) by reaction of trifluoromethanesulfonyl chloride (CF 3 SO 2 Cl) with a metal fluoride in the presence of water, wherein the amount of the water is in the range of 0.6 mass% to 10.0 mass% based on 100 mass% of the metal fluoride. This process makes it possible to produce the trifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride with high yield and high purity by a simplified procedure as compared to the conventional processes.
