The present invention relates to an electric vehicle battery charging technique and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for charging a battery by operating a generator using force of the steering wheel (restoration force) returning to an original position according to a principle that the steering wheel returns to the original position when a vehicle travels from a curved road to a straight road.
