<p>The disclosure relates to a touch pad and a corresponding touch position determining unit (TPDU). The touch pad comprises a plurality of sensing elements that each extend in a first direction and are displaced from one another in a second direction, wherein the plurality of sensing elements is provided in a single layer. The TPDU comprises a sensing element configured to present an electrical property associated with one or more touch properties of one or more fingers along a length of the sensing element, the TPDU configured to: set an attenuation setting to a plurality of different attenuation settings; generate a plurality of touch signals, wherein each of the plurality of touch signals is generated in accordance with the electrical property at a different attenuation setting; and determine the one or more touch properties using the plurality of touch signals.</p> |
