摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting magnet apparatus capable of stably performing excitation without generating superconductivity breakdown. SOLUTION: For an annular superconducting magnet 100, an annular cooling container 112 whose cross section is rectangular is housed in a vacuum container 11 and a superconducting coil 13 is wound on a winding frame part 112d formed by the inner cylinder 12a of the cooling container 112, a flange part 12c at a left part and a thick flange part 112c at a right part. It is made to face the superconducting magnet (not shown) at the right part in an axial direction, the cooling containers 112 are connected with each other by a cooling container connection pipe 22 so that the superconducting magnet apparatus is attained. When the superconducting coils 13 mutually facing are excited, an electromagnetic force in the direction of an arrow C is generated between them. Thus, the cooling container 112 receives reaction force E from the cooling container connection pipe 22 and is deformed as in the dotted lines in the figure. However, since thick flange part 112c is hardly deformed, the possibility that the corner part of a side face part 13a of the superconducting coil 13 abutted to the thick flange part 112c on one side and receives locally concentrated stresses is eliminated and the superconductivity breakdown is prevented.
