摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both drive stability and comfortableness, also decrease a sound and a shock when damping force is switched. SOLUTION: In first/second damping force variable mechanisms 17A, 17B provided in a piston 4 of a liquid pressure shock absorber 1, when sliding of the piston 4 is a small stroke, spring force is additionally applied to the input force of a piston rod 5, by extending/contracting action of an elastic unit 34, 35, 44, 45. When the siding is an intermediate stroke, the elastic unit 34, 35 for a small stroke is saturated, spring force of the elastic unit 44, 45 for a large stroke is additionally applied. When the sliding is a large stroke, by sliding action of a sliders 33, 43, an upper part liquid chamber 6, is switched to communicate with a lower part liquid chamber 7. Consequently, when a stroke is increased, spring force is increased and virtual damping force is increased, when the stroke is extremely increased, spring force of the elastic unit 34, 35, 44, 45 is saturated for flapping prevented.
