<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying water by which the adhered quantity of microorganisms is kept fixed and the control and recovery of organic sludge can be easily carried out. SOLUTION: A pipe 4 having narrow pores on the surface thereof and provided with a biological fixed bed 5 on the periphery thereof is arranged below the surface of the water 8. Water to be treated 2 is passed from inside the pipe 4 to propagate a group of algae 6 in the biological fixed bed 5. By photosynthesis of the group of algae 6, underwater inorganic matter is taken in the alga body, and in that state, the group of algae 6 is periodically removed, thereby keeping the adhered quantity of microorganisms fixed to make easy the control and recovery of organic sludge.</p> |
