The present invention relates to an operation method of an electronic device, and more specifically, to an electronic device which can be unlocked using an object and a method thereof. The method includes the steps of: enabling a user to select two or more objects among three or more objects with unique colors; determining whether at least one of the color sequence and the rotation direction of the two or more selected objects matches the pre-set color sequence and the rotation direction; and unlocking a locked screen when the match is found in the previous step.
