Disclosed are a multibeam antenna system and a method for controlling output power thereof. The multibeam antenna system according to the present invention comprises: a beamforming network unit which receives a plurality of input signals, which are to be outputted in beams, splits each of the received input signals into multiple parts, adjusts a magnitude and a phase of each of the split parts of the input signals, and couples the adjusted result with one another to output a plurality of excitation signals; a multi-port amplifier (MPA) unit which includes a plurality of MPAs receiving corresponding excitation signals among the excitation signals applied from the beamforming network unit and controlling output power of the received excitation signals according to an amount of communications; and an array element unit which includes a plurality of feeding elements excited according to the magnitude and phase of the excitation signal applied from the MPA unit and outputting multiple beams.
