The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling the uplink power of a mobile terminal and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for controlling the uplink power of a terminal for determining a power control information transmission location based on an uplink control channel in a wireless communication system. The method for controlling the uplink power of a mobile terminal in a wireless communication system comprises the steps of: allocating, by a base station, an uplink control channel; determining a location to receive power control information based on the uplink control channel; and controlling the uplink power at the determined location based on the power control information.
