PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique as an image processing device, capable of minimizing overhead needed for image processing when reading a peripheral block, even if the block size is increased in undefined length compression of JPEG or the like.SOLUTION: An image processing device divides an input image into respective blocks each having a plurality of pixels, and selects the divided respective blocks in an arrangement order of the block in the input image, and divides the selected blocks into respective sub-blocks each having a plurality of pixels, and selects the divided respective sub-blocks in a specified order, and subjects the selected sub-blocks to compression treatment. For details of the compression, the image processing device alternately selects the sub-blocks in an arrangement order of the sub-blocks in the block and in a reverse order of the arrangement order for each block, and selects the respective sub-blocks obtained by dividing the selected blocks in the selected order for each selected block, and subjects the selected sub-blocks to the compression treatment. |
