<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial manufacturing method of a cathode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high capacity and excellent in a thermal stability and moreover having a tap density by 2.0 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more to attain 10 Ω or less of a cathode resistance of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery or having a tap density by 2.5 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. <P>SOLUTION: After obtaining a nickel-cobalt-manganese compound hydroxide of 2.0 g/m<SP>3</SP>of a tap density, the same is thermal-treated at a temperature of 100°C or higher and less than 800°C and a lithium compound is mixed so that a ratio (Li/M) of the number of atoms of lithium against a total of the number of atoms of nickel, cobalt and manganese may become 0.95-1.15, and is calcined at a temperature of 800-1,000°C in an oxidizing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
