System and method for removing dents from a wind turbine

A system 100 and method for removing a dent 110 from a wind turbine tower 112 is provided. The system 100 includes a measuring system 120 configured for measuring a shape of the dent 110 in at least two dimensions. A ram assembly 140 is configured to be placed against the dent 110 and an inside portion of the wind turbine tower 112. A control system 130 is connected to both the ram assembly 140 and the measuring system 120, and the control system 130 is configured for controlling operation of the ram assembly 140 based on data received from the measuring system 120. The measuring system 120 monitors the shape of the dent 110 during activation of the ram assembly 140.
