PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera lens driving device by which a focus is normally corrected with high precision by changing-over an automatic focus correcting means in accordance with focus lens movement speed at the time of the focus operation of a cameraman when the focus is automatically corrected after the focus operation by the focus demand of the cameraman is ended. SOLUTION: When the cameraman operates the focus demand 42 so as to drive a focus lens 12, focus evaluation values are detected in the respective movement positions of the focus lens 12 and also the movement speed of the focus lens 12 at the max. position of the focus evaluating values is detected. When the focus operation is ended, it is judged whether the movement speed of the focus lens 12 exceeds prescribed speed or not. The focus lens 12 is moved to the max. position of the focus evaluating values unless it exceeds and the lens 12 is moved to the focal position by permitting the focus lens to execute a hill climbing operation when it exceeds.
