METHOD, APPARATUS, SYSTEM & PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR THIN-CLASSES IN A CLIENT-SERVER ENVIRONMENT

Apparatus, methods, systems and computer program products are disclosed for a thin-class that uses a logical object in a client-server environment. The logica l object contains programmed-methods and instance variables. The logical object is used exactly li ke traditional OOP objects, but the programmed methods for the logical object can b e distributed between the client and server. Thus, a method invocation on a logical object aut omatically determines whether the method is located on the client or on the server. If the method is located on the server the logical object automatically establishes communication with the server method transparently to the programmer who invoked the method.
