Among methods and means to safeguard property and buildings from flood waters and other environmental hazards, it is known sandbags, earthen or rock dykes cannot provide quick, light weight barriers to thwart flow intrusions into publi c and personal property when a rapid response is necessary. In this invention light we ight layers are sequentially applied upon a building structure replacing the traditio nal use of sandbag dykes. A relatively rigid support framework provides a barrier to flo od waters and flows, wave action and weather by attaching synthetic liquid-resistan t fibers (11, 11a, 15, 23), elastomers (15, 16, 18), polymerized (7, 9, 12a, 14, 1 4a, 15a, 15b) and plastic materials ( 16, 17, 19, 19a, 20, 28, 39a, 43, 43a, 43c, 43d, 44c, 44 d, 46) to a building or to free standing structures outside the boundaries of the property o r building. Layers provide multiple lightweight barriers eliminating heavy lifting , reducing manpower labour and physical stress. |
