<p>A push-button type coating instrument including writing bristles slidably fitted to an open portion at the distal end of a barrel incorporating a coating solution storage portion, a valve mechanism sandwiched between the brush and the storage portion and a valve disc interconnected to the brush, wherein a rib is formed on the inner wall of the open portion at the tip of the barrel in an axial longitudinal direction, and the diameter of an inscribed circle of the apex of the rib is made smaller than the maximum diameter of the bristles so that the rib formed on the inner wall of the open portion at the tip of the cylinder catches the bristles that have advanced in the interlocking arrangement with the valve disc at the time of pushing. Consequently, the bristles are split by the rib, and the solidified matters, gelled matters, viscous matters, etc., formed by the coating solution inside the bristles can be peeled off the bristle fiber and the ink flow passage inside the brush can be recovered. Further, the force of interconnection between the bristles and the valve disc is made smaller than the urging force to the valve disc and the bonding distance between the bristles and the valve disc is made longer than the valve disc moving distance when the button portion is pushed. Accordingly, when the solidified matters and the gelled matters of the coating solution are removed from the bristles, the bristles do not fall off from the valve disc even when the push force is accidentally released.</p> |
