In the present invention, disclosed are a biodegradable polyester resin and an article including the same. The disclosed biodegradable polyester resin has excellent mechanical properties and biodegradability by including products wherein the products are generated from two reactions: an esterification reaction of a first oligomer including unsaturated acid anhydride residues and unsaturated monomer residues of radical polymerization reacting with a second oligomer including aliphatic diol residues and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residues; and then a condensation polymerization reaction.
