A network security system generates an alert in response to a security breach being detected in a proxy server in a data processing network. A distributor 300 intercepts a request for a resource from a client device 105 and creates a duplicate of the intercepted request. The distributor forwards the intercepted request to a first type of proxy server 110a and the duplicate to a second type of proxy server 110b, wherein the proxy server types differ. A comparator 305 receives the respective outputs from the two proxy servers and compares them. If the outputs differ then an alert is generated. In another embodiment (fig. 4) a distributor intercepts a requested resource from a server and creates a duplicate of it. The requested resource and its duplicate are forwarded to first and second types of proxy server respectively. A comparator receives the outputs from the proxy servers and generates an alarm if they differ. |
