<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallax picture generating apparatus for accurately generating a parallax picture from pictures imaged from different viewpoint positions. <P>SOLUTION: A parallax picture generating apparatus 1 comprises: block quarry means 11 for sequentially cutting blocks off from a base and reference pictures imaged from different viewpoint positions; parallax candidate extraction means 12 for extracting a plurality of parallax candidates in the descending order of local maximum values of a phase correlation function for each block, and storing the candidates to parallax candidate storage means 13; common parallax candidate extraction means 14 for extracting a common parallax candidate that is common among a plurality of blocks including a target pixel for which parallax is to be obtained from the parallax candidates stored in the parallax candidate storage means 13; similarity calculation means 15a for calculating similarity between a target pixel in the base picture and a corresponding pixel which is shifted by parallax shown by the common parallax candidate in the reference picture, for each common parallax candidate; and parallax selection means 15b for determining a common parallax candidate having the highest similarity to be the parallax of the target pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
