PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drift current suppression method for suppressing the drift current of a superconductor with a simple configuration, and to provide a superconductive cable utilizing this drift current suppression method. SOLUTION: The drift current suppression method suppresses deviation of a main current flowing through a superconducting tape 31 in the extension direction, for the superconducting tape 31 formed by bundling a plurality of filaments 32. In this drift current suppression method, a magnetic flux is generated in the base metal of the superconducting tape 31 substantially in parallel with the extension direction thereof, by feeding the main current to the superconducting tape 31 and feeding a current to a coil conductor 5 wound on the outside of superconducting tape 31 in a direction substantially perpendicular to the extension direction thereof.
