<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device using a cleaning blade capable of suppressing turning up of a ridge part of a tip, achieving excellent followability of the ridge part to an object surface to be cleaned, and maintaining contact pressure to result in excellent cleaning characteristics and abrasion resistance, and to provide a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation device 5 includes cleaning means having a cleaning blade 62 which comes in contact with an image carrier 3 surface and cleans transfer residual toner attached to the image carrier surface. The cleaning blade has a Martens hardness equal to or higher than 0.5 [N/mm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>] at a maximum indentation load of 2 mN inside a cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of a blade member at the contact tip by 10 [μm] from the cut surface and by 10 [μm] from the contact surface at 25°C and 55%, and an indentation creep equal to or less than 5% at an indentation load of 2 mN with a dwell time of 5 seconds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
