PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the arrival angle of radio waves without performing many complicate calculations by optimizing estimation values of an azimuth angle and a zenith angle to make minimum a cumulative square error related to a difference between an estimated reception signal and a received signal of each element and determining the arrival angle. SOLUTION: Two sets of pair elements consisting of optional two elements of a multi-element array antenna are selected. A reception phase difference between two elements of each pair of the two sets is calculated. An estimation value of an azimuth angle of a coming electric wave is calculated from a ratio of reception phase differences of the two sets. An estimation value of a zenith angle of the coming radio wave is calculated on the basis of the calculated estimation value of the azimuth angle and the reception phase differences of the pairs of the sets. The estimation values of the azimuth angle and zenith angle are optimized to make minimum a cumulative square error related to a difference of an estimation reception signal of each element and a received signal of the element of the multi-element array antenna calculated from the estimation values of the azimuth angles and zenith angles, thereby determining an arrival angle of the coming electric wave.
|
