<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix substrate capable of driving improved in visual characteristics and the liquid crystal display(LCD) panel of high contrast and high picture quality using the substrate. SOLUTION: An active matrix substrate 100 has a substrate 30, first arid second signal electrodes 12 and 14 arranged in a prescribed pattern on this substrate 30, first pixel electrode 22 electrically connected with the first signal electrode 12 while having plural unit electrodes 22a extended in a pixel area 20, and second pixel electrode 24 electrically connected with the second signal electrode 14 while having plural unit electrodes 24a extended in the pixel area 20 in the state of facing the unit electrodes 22a of the first pixel electrode 22. Between the first signal electrode 12 and the first pixel electrode 22 or between the second signal electrode 14 and the second pixel electrode 24, a two-terminal type non-linear element is connected. Then, an electric field generated between the unit electrodes 22a of the first pixel electrode 22 and the unit electrodes 24a of the second pixel electrode 24 contains a component parallel to the said substrate 30.</p> |
