摘要 The present invention relates to an apparatus for cooling a wind power generation system capable of normally operating components only if a cooling pump is normally operated by checking the normal operation of the cooling pump using a flow value of a flow sensor other than an input value of a pressure switch, and to a control method thereof. Preferably, the apparatus for cooling a wind power generation system formed by including a cooling pump, a pressure switch, a temperature sensor, and a heat-exchanger comprises: a flow sensor which is installed on a cooling line to sense flow of cooling water; and a main control unit which checks normal operation of the cooling pump according to a flow value applied by the flow sensor and stops generating power if the cooling pump is not operated as a result of checking the normal operation of the cooling pump. Therefore, the present invention can prevent the temperature of component from being increased by normally operating the components only if the cooling pump is normally operated, thereby stably operating a wind power generation system and increasing the wind power generation system.
