PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the close contactness of sanitary naptin to the entrance of vagina and the vicinity thereof and the follow-up characteristic thereof to the movement in the vicinity of vagina to thereby ensure a speedy absorption and prevention of leakage of menstrural blood by forming the sectional shape of a liquid absorption core into an inverted V shape, and forming a cavity between the core and a lower member of the sanitary napkin. SOLUTION: This napkin has an upper member 16 and a lower member 17. The upper member 16 has a liquid transmission type surface sheet 21, a liquid absorption type core 22 abutting on a lower surface of top of the sheet 21, and a backing sheet 23 abutting on a lower surface of the core 22. Between both edges 24 of the backing sheet 23, an elastic member 27 attached to the side edge 24 through an adhesive 26 shrinks to keep the inverted V shape of the sheet 23. The sheet 21 has an inverted V shape portion 28 resulting from that the central part of the napkin in the width direction comes into contact with an upper surface of the core 22 intermettently. In a side edge 4 of the napkin, the sheet 21 rises slantly upward to the outside and thereby a liquid leakage prevention cuff 29 is formed. |
