This seal structure for a rotary machine is configured in such a manner that: an outer peripheral member (1) has an annular flange (11) which protrudes inward in the radial direction and which extends around the axis; an inner peripheral member has an annular flange which protrudes outward in the radial direction, has an annular shape extending around the axis, and faces the flange (11) of the outer peripheral member (1) in the axial direction; one of the flange (11) of the outer peripheral member (1) and the flange of the inner peripheral member has formed therein an annular groove (13) which is recessed from an end surface of the one flange, the end surface facing the other flange, and which extends around the axis; an annular seal body (14) which is moved forward and backward so as to be capable of being in contact with the other flange is received in the groove (13); and the seal structure is provided with a first pressing means for pressing the seal body (14) toward the other flange and is also provided with a second pressing means (22) for pressing the seal body (14) toward a radially facing wall surface (13b) of the groove (13).
