<p>Apparatus for reducing road vehicle spray comprises a partial enclosure (10) for a vehicle road wheel (1), defined by a top wall (2), a rear wall (20), and a side wall (12). The rear wall is provided with means for collecting water from water spray in the partial enclosure, the front (28) of the partial enclosure is substantially open and a side wall is provided with one or more air scoops (15) for directing air passing outside the enclosure into the enclosure. The air scoops create an air flow through the enclosure, which can lower the pressure at the front air intake, to suck in, and reduce the effects of, front wheel spray (6), and also cool the tyres, while the apparatus also suppresses rear wheel spray (6).</p> |
