A user card 10 carrying an identification 14 and a matrix barcode or two dimensional barcode 12, wherein the matrix barcode stores the identification and a link to an online registration page of a database associated with an issuer of the card. Preferably the matrix barcode is a QR code 12 and is carried on an adhesive label applied to the card. The card may also have a magnetic strip 18 or a linear barcode 14 carrying the identification number and the card may have RFID capability. In the embodiment, the card is a loyalty or store card and the QR code can be scanned by the mobile device of a new cardholder to take them to a new card registration page in which the registration form is prepopulated with the card identification number 14. This allows quick and easy card registration with fewer mistakes. |
