A sealing assembly for a roller bearing comprises an elastic seal lip 10 having a movable part 12, wherein said seal lip 10 is configured to be attached to a first part of a machine i.e. an outer bearing race and to be in contact with a second part 18 of the machine i.e. an inner bearing race. It is proposed that at least one acceleration sensor 14 is fixed to the movable part 12 of the seal lip 10. The sensor may be a 3-axis gravity sensor semi conductor chip. The sealing assembly may comprise a data processing device which may determine the orientation of the sensor in relation to the direction of gravity and may calculate sealing lip wear, and or stiction of the sealing lip. A later embodiment relates to a method of monitoring a sealing assembly. |
